About Us

Meeting Our Mission

With only volunteer staff and a paucity of funding, the ARTBANK Bunclody has, since Culture Night of September 2015, met its Mission to.

  • Create and develop an inclusive environment from which to encourage a regional community through the arts.

  • Foster a creative culture through workshops, exhibits, parades, crafts, film, photography, literature, and minds of imagination.

Our Aims

The ARTBANK Bunclody aims to break the prejudices and discrimination associated with art and crafts, and share the values of creativity and inclusivity throughout our diverse communities.

The ARTBANK Bunclody’s main activities include workshops, classes, and celebrations of:

  • Visual Arts

  • Crafts

  • Theatre

  • Film

  • Literature

  • Music

  • Dance

  • Young People

  • Social Inclusiveness

  • Our Environment

Key components of our activities are:

  • Community and social discourse

  • Inclusion and encouragement

  • Wellness and wellbeing

  • Environment and surroundings

  • A celebration of creativity, exhibition, and sales

Our Staff are Volunteers

ARTBANK Bunclody staff are unpaid and unfunded volunteers. They each:

  • Propose, design, subsidise, and facilitate the ARTBANK Bunclody creative workshops.

  • Design and administer allied ARTBANK Bunclody exhibitions, cultural, and social events.

  • Take on the day-to-day responsibilities of running the ARTBANK Bunclody gallery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sharing creativity

  • Publicity / Public Relations

  • Fundraising

  • Sales and customer experience

  • Book keeping

  • Website and allied social media campaigns

The ARTBANK Bunclody is staffed from 2pm to 5:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, and for workshops on Saturday morning for “Dress for Mess”, and in the evenings for adult workshops.

All costs for statutory requirements such as Garda Checks are also met by the volunteers.

Gallery Sales

Sell Your Works

You are welcome to participate in our growing community of creatives and to submit your creative works for sale by the ARTBANK Bunclody.

The ARTBANK Bunclody gives emerging and established artists the opportunity to exhibit their work for sale in the Gallery on a Participation and Commission basis. This is incidental to our Mission and not a standard Retail model, although it is aimed to help support our Mission.

Our Mission can only be met by providing workshops and creative events within our community.

Gallery Sales ideally should support the cost of meeting our Mission and workshops, but there is no discrimination of works based on their assumed saleability or popularity.

We are an inclusive community model for artists to grow confidence to access customers, and for customers to access community artists. Our community chooses what is in our Gallery – not us. As such, the “Retail” model is somewhat beyond our control.

We ask only for a small annual Participation Fee (€20 pp, or €30 family, February through January) and charge only a very reasonable Commission of 25%.

Our team are only too pleased to advise you on your pricing and if necessary, to help you get the best out of your presentation.

It's not only about the painters! We represent wood workers, knitters, needle crafters, jewers, candle makers, glass workers, sculptors, printers, doll makers, digital artists, and more!

And soon we hope to launch our new Online Store. It'll be a modest venture at first, but we plan to give your creative works every advantage possible across a Worldwide market!

Please Support Us

ARTBANK’s short range objective is quite simple and critical. It needs to raise money to pay the rent, rates, and to keep the lights on.

Our programs for children, those in need of support to continue in the arts, and adults rely on the small commission from sales, our volunteers' time, and donations made by our community.

We do not make a profit and cannot open all hours. We need YOUR help and support - it's as simple and critical than that.

Please support us and make a small donation or purchase when you visit.

Thank You,

The ARTBANK Bunclody Volunteer Team

Rachel Darlington

Administrator

Rachel is our wonderful lynchpin in the ARTBANK Bunclody administration chain. As a published author, magazine columnist and gardening YouTuber, Rachel is clearly organised and patient enough to deal with the rest of the characters on the ARTBANK development group. Yes. All of them ;)

Mike Fallon

Development Team

Mike is a creative entrepreneur with a variety of skills and crafts he brings to bare with enthusiasm and imagination. Mike administers a "Men's Shed" and is advancing plans to introduce a Shed to Bunclody and he is keen to point out that he wants women involved too. Mike's wooden sculptures came to the fore during the Streams of Bunclody Festival where his pieces "floated" along the Mall - except the stone foot. That probably wouldn't float.

Rebecca Homfray

Development Team

Rebecca is an accomplished artist specialising in creating the most beautiful lino prints. Rebecca brings a wealth of experience to the team as a successful artist and acts as a staunch advocate for all our creatives.

Sharon Hosey

Development Team

Sharon is a busy full-time Mum and she claims,  ARTBANK Bunclody's "general dog's body", which hardly does justice to the work she does to support us! Sharon is a qualified Graphic Designer and dabbles frequently.

Elaine Jordan

Development Team

Elaine is a creative actor, director, writer, and educator as well as a busy Mum and a great organiser. Strong creative and practical experience within a variety of artistic and educational industry positions place Elaine high on our list of 'must attends' at any Team Meeting.

Lara Kamateras

Development Team

Lara is an artist working across many medias, with a background in digital design and presentation, and with a hoard of experience to bring to our Development Team. Lara also hosts our Textile Workshops, which have proven very popular and highly productive.
