A First Commission for Pat Godfrey!

It was our great pleasure yesterday to receive Pat Godfrey's detailed digital painting of a Messerschmitt BE-109 on behalf of our client.

This is Pat's first commission, which was based on the quality of his prints already available in the ARTBANK Bunclody including a Tornado jet of the 1990s, a Typhoon and Spitfire from the 1940s, and a period Citroen Princess with a stylised Lamborghini Countach and Dodge Charger. (We're also awaiting his John Deere tractor ploughing scene - hint).

The Messerschmitt painting, called "Wildhüter" (or Gamekeeper in English) was created with digital pencil and acrylic brushes (using a stylus on a drawing tablet). Pat's prints with LUCIA 12-pigment inks on archival paper, which means that they will last a lifetime - or longer.

Pat's "Day Job" is as a User Experience Architect (a fussy 'web designer' to you and me). Painting inspires his creativity, which he told me is in turn inspired by his visits to the ARTBANK Bunclody and viewing the ever-changing talent and variety of techniques and crafts on display here.

Our Curator, Jon King receiving Pat Godfrey's "Wildhüter" commissioned on behalf of our client.
